A practical guide to
a prosperous, low carbon europe.

The mission of Roadmap 2050 project is to provide a practical, independent and objective analysis of pathways to achieve a low-carbon economy in Europe, in line with the energy security, environmental and economic goals of the European Union. The Roadmap 2050 project is an initiative of the European Climate Foundation (ECF) and has been developed by a consortium of experts funded by the ECF.

Roadmap 2050

Roadmap 2050 breaks new ground by outlining plausible ways to achieve an 80% reduction target from a broad European perspective, based on the best available facts elicited from industry players and academia, and developed by a team of recognized experts rigorously applying established industry standards.

Power perspective 2030

Power Perspectives 2030 builds on the widely referenced Roadmap 2050: a practical guide to a prosperous low-carbon Europe, and provides an analysis of the next steps required in the development of the European power sector by 2030 in order to remain on track to full decarbonisation by 2050.

Roadmap to reality

Over the last few years, ECF has been running a process on the transition to a low-carbon economy Europe, in cooperation with a large group of stakeholders in the energy debate. From Roadmaps to Reality aims to support and progress the thinking around the challenges of the transition of the European power systems from a policy and implementation point of view. It does so by exploring key questions, identifying key obstacles and mapping out sets of solutions that best supports the decarbonisation of the power sector over different timescales.
